MEDFORD, Mass. – The Colby-Sawyer men's track and field team competed in the Branwen Smith-King Invitational on Saturday hosted by Tufts University. The Chargers finished sixth out of ten schools with a team score of 34.
Rapid Recap:
- Sophomore Hayden Goyette (Epsom, N.H.) secured a first-place finish for the Chargers in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:06.59. Following closely behind was junior Jordan Piechowski (Windham, Maine) finishing in third with a time of 2:10.36. Junior Jesse Gushee (West Linn, Ore.) competed in the men's 600-meter race finishing in sixth place with a time of 1:34.37.
- First year JJ Davis (Bradford, N.H.) was the top finisher for the Chargers in the 200-meter dash clocking in at 24.00 good for third place. Davis also competed in the men's long jump placing 12th overall with a mark of 5.64 meters.
- Junior Chase Adams (Brookline, N.H.) qualified for the finals in the 60-meter hurdles finishing with a time of 8.95.
- In the 60-meter dash, senior Dean Miller (Andover, Mass.) was the top finisher for Colby-Sawyer placing 14th with a time of 7.58. Junior Joseph Branchaud (Tewksbury, Mass.) came in 16th place after finishing with a time of 7.62.
- In the distance races, sophomore Dylan Flewelling (Oakland, Maine) placed fourth overall in the 3,000-meter run completing the race in 9:15.62. In the 5,000-meter run, sophomore Martin Steucek (Ashburnham, Mass.) finished eighth with a time of 17:18.80.

The Colby-Sawyer indoor track and field team will head to Wheaton College to compete in the Wheaton Invitational on January 28
th for their next meet.
