NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis competed its first match of 2022 on Saturday falling to Endicott College by a 8-1 final.

Rapid Recap:

• The Chargers lone point came in number two doubles as sophomore Elise Hogan (Duxbury, Mass.) and junior Alyssa Owens (Grain Valley, Mo.) picked up a 8-6 win. The Gulls secured points in number one doubles by a 8-7 (9-7 tiebreaker) and number three doubles by a 8-3 margin to lead 2-1 into singles action.
• Sophomore Isabella Gutierrez Avendaño (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) had the best outing for Colby-Sawyer in singles action falling in number four singles by a 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 final. Sophomore Grace Carpenter (Milford, N.H.) was the only other Charger to play three singles sets falling in number one singles by a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 final.
