Coaches Corner:
"This team showed some resiliency tonight battling back from a goal down on two different occasions and really dominated the second half," said head coach
Anthony Cosky. "I thought we deserved the 3 points, but we are happy with the result. We were dangerous in the attack and possessed the ball well against a very physical team that made it tough for us to play how we wanted to, but we found a way. Defensively, we did a great job limiting them, but just had a couple lapses and they capitalized."
"We leave for a very tough trip to New York this weekend against some very tough Liberty League opponents in St Lawrence and Clarkson University, so we look forward to the challenge. This team will compete with anyone so I'm excited to see what we can do against high level competition."
Notes & Notables:
- Sophomore Bridget O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) and senior Grace Walsh (Marstons Mills, Mass.) were both involved in the Chargers attack with a combined 7 shots.
- First year Lauren Ardolino made her Charger debut with two of her three shots being on goal.
- The Chargers were able to put up a total of 17 shots against the Mariners, nine of which were on target.
