Anthony Cosky

Anthony Cosky enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Colby-Sawyer women's soccer program. Cosky is the 10th women's soccer coach in program history. 

In his third year in New London the Chargers went 9-4-8 with a 7-2-6 GNAC record.  Colby-Sawyer finished as the #5 seed and lost in penalty kicks to #4 seed Lasell in the Quarter-Finals.  Bridget O’Connell set the career record for goals scored with 58 and total points with 134.  She was named GNAC First Team, United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team, NEWISA All New England Second Team, and selected to participate in the NEWISA Senior Bowl.  Sam Bishop was also selected for the NEWISA Senior bowl after another great season with 6 goals and 12 assists and ended her career second all-time in assists with 29.  Halle Pletzer had a breakout season in her senior year finishing with 5 goals and 7 assists while being selected to the GNAC Third team for the first time in her career. 

In his second year in New London the Chargers had a stellar year going 12-7-3 with a 10-4-1 GNAC record. Colby-Sawyer would win their first GNAC playoff game in program history with a 3-2 victory over Regis before falling in the GNAC Semifinals to Johnson & Wales. Cosky led the Chargers to receiving four GNAC All-Conference members, the GNAC Offensive Player of the Year, four CSC Academic All-District selections and a pair of United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections. Colby-Sawyer also had Bridget O'Connell named as a NEWISA All-New England member, which is the first Charger selected since 2015. 

In his first year Cosky finished the year with a 7-10-4 overall record with a 5-5-3 GNAC record. The Chargers finished the year as the seventh seed in the GNAC falling the first round to Lasell University. Cosky coached three GNAC All-Conference Third Team selections, Bridget O’Connell, Thea Alberti, and Kara Keiper in 2022.  Thea Alberti and Bridget O’Connell were also selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team.  Alberti was also selected to participate in the NEWISA Senior Bowl.

Prior to leading the Chargers,  Cosky was an assistant for Clark University in the 2021 season. At Clark University, Cosky and the Cougars finished the year 11-7, falling in the NEWMAC Quarterfinals. Prior to being with the Cougars, Cosky was the women's soccer head coach for Becker College for four seasons holding a 33-27-5 record. In his tenure, Cosky was in the conference tournament semi-finals every year and his student-athletes received numerous accolades including Conference Player of the Year, United Soccer Coaches All Region and Scholar All East Region, COSIDA All District First Team, NEWISA All New England teams and 10 all-conference selections.
 
Prior to Becker, Cosky was the assistant women's coach at Assumption College for three years. In his first year at Assumption, the team appeared in the NCAA Tournament after winning the conference regular-season championship for the first time in program history. He coached an All-American and numerous players who made All-Region and All-Conference teams. In his three years as an assistant, the team had an overall record of 33-22-3.    
 
Cosky has over 19 years of coaching experience at all levels, including the semi-professional level as the head coach of the Worcester Smiles in the UWS for their inaugural season. He has coached with Massachusetts Youth Soccer ODP and various clubs and high schools. He has been a member of the United Soccer Coaches organization for 10 plus years and holds many coaching certifications. Cosky currently holds the United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma, Director of Coaching Diploma, Level 3 Goalkeeper Diploma, USSF National Youth License, and is actively pursuing his USSF National D License.
 
Cosky also works as a Delivery Driver for Slow Rise Nashoba Brook Bakery in Concord, MA and as a Substitute Teacher in Spencer, MA.  He also does some coaching and is a referee at Soccer Asylum in Paxton, MA in the winter.
 
Cosky currently resides in Holden, Massachusetts with his wife Pamela and their four children, Stasia (14), Sebastian (7), Savannah (5), and Sawyer (1).
