STOWE, VT. – Due to predicted weather conditions, a match originally set to be played at Colby-Sawyer's Kelsey Courts, was moved to Stowe, Vermont, the home of the Northern Vermont University – Lyndon Hornets. The Colby-Sawyer Chargers improved their win streak to three with a clean 9- 0 victory over the Hornets on Friday afternoon.
Rapid Recap:
- Extending their duo appearances to seven was senior Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) and first-year Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) taking an 8-0 win in the #1 doubles over their Hornet opponents.
- The pair of first-years Jan Ullmann (Schriesheim, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) and John Turner (Perry, Maine) took the #2 doubles triumph with another spotless 8-0 victory in their fifth win on the season together.
- Playing in their third doubles match together, in the #3 spot was first-years Alexander Edelmann and Cohl Schusler (Bradford, N.H.). The pair improved their record to 2-1 with the third 8-0 score of the match.
- Ending the night with clean sheets was Lowman, Turner, and a new addition to the team, junior Kristian Velijanen (Stowe, Vt.).
- Jensen, Edelmann, and Schusler also collected wins in singles play, propelling the Chargers to an overall 9-0 victory.
Up Next:
The Chargers were set to play the Huskies of University of Southern Maine on Saturday; however, rain has also had an impct on that match, cancelling any sort of play for the entire rest of the weekend. The men grab their rackets next for a match against Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday, April 13
