PORTLAND, Maine. – The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team improved their winning streak to four and collected their third 9-0 shutout of the season against the Huskies of the University of Southern Maine on Friday evening at Costello Sports Complex in Portland, Maine.
Rapid Recap:
- In their fourth straight victory together, senior Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) and first-year Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) competed in the number one spots, finishing with a score of 8-1.
- The pair of first-years, Jan Ullmann (Schriesheim, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) and John Turner (Perry, Maine), finished 8-2 in favor of the Chargers to stretch the duos win streak to four.
- Rounding out the number three doubles were Alexander Edelmann and Charlie Graffius (Portland, Maine). The team of rookies defeated their opponents with an 8-6 score to secure the sweep in doubles play.
- With their second personal shutout in singles was junior Cohl Schusler (Bradford, N.H.), and adding to the sweep was Lowman and Turner.
- The final contributors to this 9-0 triumph were Ullmann, Jensen, and Edelmann.
Notes & Notables:
- Jensen, who is 9-4 in both singles and doubles, is on a seven-game winning streak after today's match.
- Lowman has been successful in six of his last doubles matches, with the previous four coming with Jensen.
