Chargers Clinch GNAC Championship Berth in 5-1 Win Over Albertus Magnus College

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Chargers men's tennis team is heading to the Great Northeast Athletic (GNAC) Championship as Colby-Sawyer defeated Albertus Magnus College by a 5-1 final on Saturday.

Rapid Recap:
  • The Chargers got a pair of doubles wins as #2 doubles featuring first year Jan Ullmann (Schriesheim, Baden-Wuerrttemberg, Germany) and first year John Turner (Perry, Maine) cruised to a 8-0 victory, while #3 doubles pairing first year Alexander Edelmann and senior Charlie Graffius (Portland, Maine) finished off their opponents 8-3.
  • In singles action the Chargers picked up a quick win from Ullmann (6-0, 6-2) in #2 singles only needing two more points to win. Senior Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) was in a battle in on court one storming back from a 3-0 deficit to eventually win #1 singles by a 6-4, 6-0 final. Turner ended things for the day winning in #4 singles 6-4, 6-2 to secure the Chargers win.
