Chargers Battle Until the End in GNAC Championship

WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Chargers men's tennis team fought hard in the Great Northeast Athletic (GNAC) Championship on Saturday as the Chargers fell to top seeded Eastern Nazarene College by a 5-1 final.

Rapid Recap:
  • The lone win for the Chargers came from the #1 doubles pair as senior Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) and first year Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) picked up a 8-6 victory. Eastern Nazarene picked up #2 and #3 doubles wins to take an early 2-1 lead heading into singles. 
  • In singles action the Lions picked up #4-6 singles to secure their second-straight GNAC title. 
  • After walking in the graduation ceremonies in New London, Lowman held the only lead for the Chargers in #1 singles holding a 6-4, 1-2 lead when the match ended. 
  • After the match concluded Lowmann and first year Jan Ullmann (Schriesheim, Baden-Wuerrittemberg, Germany) were announced as members of the GNAC All-Tournament Team.
