NEW LONDON, N.H. – After defeating Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) member Albertus Magnus and putting a stop to the Falcon's win streak just a day prior, the Colby-Sawyer Chargers closed out the weekend with another victory, this time over the Vikings of Salem State University on Sunday afternoon on Kelsey Courts.
Rapid Recap:
- In their sixth match together, playing in the #1 doubles was senior Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) and first-year Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.), who defeated their opponents with an 8-2 score, collecting their fourth win as a pair.
- Also in their sixth pairing were first-years Jan Ullmann (Schriesheim, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) and John Turner (Perry, Maine) with an 8-7 victory earning the second Charger win in doubles.
- Lowman represented the #1 singles with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 score for his sixth singles win of the season. Ullmann followed behind with an easy 6-0, 6-1 victory for the second singles win for Colby-Sawyer. Finally, Jensen wrapped up the #3 singles with another triumph, outscoring his opponent 6-4, 6-4 to take the ultimate match, 5-4.
- Two back-to-back wins for the Chargers improve their overall record to 5-7 with a big 1-0 conference record.
