Chargers End Falcons Winning Streak with First Conference Victory of the Season, 7-2

NEW HAVEN, CT. – The Colby-Sawyer Chargers put an end to the Falcons 5-game winning streak as well as give them their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) loss in their home court with a final of 7-2, on Saturday evening. Due to the global pandemic, this was the men's teams first league match in over two years. 

Rapid Recap: 
  • In doubles play, the Chargers went 3-0 with the team of senior Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) and first year Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) finishing with a final of 8-6. First years Jan Ullmann (Schriesheim, Baden-Wuerrttemberg, Germany) and John Turner (Perry, Maine) took a victory in the #2 spot while first-year Alexander Edelmann and senior Charlie Graffius (Portland, Maine) defeated their opponents in #3 with a score of 8-4. 
  • Collecting wins in their singles matches was Ullmann, Jensen, Turner, and junior Cohl Schusler (Bradford, N.H.). Ullmann led the team defeating his opponent with 6-1, 6-1 scores. 
  • The Colby-Sawyer men's team improves their overall record to 4-7 with a big conference victory for a 1-0 GNAC record.

The team comes back home to Kelsey Courts to host the Vikings of Salem State University, tomorrow April 3rdat 3:30 pm.
