CASTLETON, VT. – The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team comprising of two seniors, one junior and four first years opened their 2022 season with an astounding 6-3 victory over the Castleton University Spartans on Saturday afternoon at the Vermont Fitness and Club Center. 
 
In doubles play, the Chargers took both the #1 doubles and the #2 doubles victories to start 2-0 over the Spartans. First-year Jan Ullman (Baden-Wuerrttemberg, Germany) and fellow first-year Aidan Jensen (Essex, VT.) took an 8-0 win as the team of first-years John Turner (Perry, Maine) and Alexander Edelmann took #2 with an 8-2 finish. 
 
Moving on to singles play, in the #1 spot was Ullman with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Following in the #2 spot with a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep over his opponent was Jensen. In the #3 singles was Turner coming up big with a final winning score of 6-1,6-0. Securing the win for the Chargers was Edelmann with a clean sweep of his own.
