NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball scored their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win of the season on Saturday, defeating Anna Maria College by a 76-73 final. Senior
Omar Boone (Colorado City, Texas) notched a career-high 30 points to go along with 10 rebounds to lead Colby-Sawyer to victory.

- Both teams struggled early with the AMCATS securing the early 3-2 advantage, before Boone checked in and knocked down back-to-back threes to put the Chargers on top. Senior Terrence Harvey Jr. (Atlanta, Ga.) picked up five early points in the fast break with a three to keep the home team in front 13-6. Anna Maria countered with an 11-3 run to secure the lead back at 17-16. The Chargers responded with a 6-2 advantage capped home by a driving layup by senior Zack Caraballo (Salem, N.H.) to five Colby-Sawyer a 22-21 lead midway through the first half. Anna Maria punched back taking a 29-26 lead before another 5-0 surge from the Chargers finished by a deep three by sophomore Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.). The AMCATS battled back and took a 37-35 lead headed into the break.
- The AMCATS powered ahead to begin the second half going on a 19-3 run to start the second half to push the visitor lead to 18 points with 15:57 to go. The Chargers responded with a 11-0 run highlighted by six points from Harvey Jr. and an old fashioned three-point play by senior Scott Lampron (Concord, N.H.). After chipping away, the Chargers continued the momentum with a 8-0 run over 90 seconds ended with a and-one bucket by Boone to put Colby-Sawyer in front 68-67 with 5:26 to play. The teams traded buckets with Anna Maria jumping back in front by a 73-72 margin. Boone once again came in the clutch finishing a layup to put the Chargers up one point with 30 seconds on the clock. On the next possesion Boone ripped down the defensive rebound before icing the game with a pair of free throws at the line to put the Chargers over the AMCATS by a 76-73 margin.

Notes & Notables:
- Boone poured in 19 second half points en route to the new career-high of 30 points (10-18 FG, 2-6 3-FG, 8-10 FT) to go along with 10 rebounds.
- Lampron also came in clutch with 13 points coming in the final half as the senior ended the night with 15 points (6-16 FG, 2-8 3-FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and a pair of assists. Harvey Jr. registered 15 points (6-13 FG, 1-2 3-FG, 2-2 FT) against his former team to go with four assists and a pair of rebounds. Caraballo also had a big game finishing with five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3-FG), four rebounds and a career-best four steals in a season-high 25 minutes.
- Gabe Armstead led the AMCATS with 17 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3-FG, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, five blocks and two steals.
- The key statistic for the Chargers was the offensive glass as Colby-Sawyer ripped down 15 offensive rebounds compared to only two for Anna Maria. The Chargers shot 39.1% (27-69) from the floor, while the AMCATS shot 50.9% (29-57) from the field.
