Box Score VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team fell in their 2022-23 opener to Virginia Wesleyan University by a 73-46 final.

- The Marlins jumped up 7-2 before a three pointer by senior Scott Lampron (Concord, N.H.) stopped the run. The Chargers gained the lead at 12-11 after senior Terrence Harvey Jr. (Atlanta, Ga.) knocked home another jumper. A 10-2 counter by the home team pushed the lead back to seven points. The lead ballooned to 23 at the end of the half as the Marlins went on a 16-0 run in the final five minutes.
- Lampron started the scoring in the second half finishing a jumper, but the Marlins quickly responded pushing the lead to 54-23. The Chargers could not recover falling by a 73-46 final.
Stats & Figures:
- Senior Conor Kelly (Charlestown, Mass.) led the offense with 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 FT) with 10 rebounds. Sophomore Kevin Cummings (Portsmouth, N.H.) netted nine points (3-10 FG, 1-6 3-FG, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and an assist.
