WESTON, Mass. - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team fell to Regis College on Saturday afternoon 5-1 in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference match.
Rapid Recap:
- The Chargers wasted no time getting on the board when junior Sam Bishop (Windham, N.H.) found the back of the net in the first minute of the match to give the Chargers the early 1-0 advantage.
- The Pride evened the score after Aria Ulmer put the ball past senior goalkeeper (Bangor, Maine) in the 19th minute. With 15 minutes left in the first half, Emma Nunnemacher placed the ball in the bottom left corner to further the Pride's led 3-1 heading into halftime.
- In the second half, Sara Costa notched the fourth goal to put Regis up 4-1 early in the half. In the 72ndminute, Hailey Lovell solidified the score line at 5-1 off the assist from Costa.
Stats & Figures:
- Sophomore Bridget O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) and Bishop led the Chargers in shots with four each. Junior Kara Keiper (Peterborough, N.H) had two of her three shots on target with senior Hannah Marquis (Weare, N.H.) getting off two shots.
- Sophomore Hannah Himes (Willison, VT.), first year Lauren Ardolino (Milford, Conn.), senior Hannah Pletzer (Barre, VT.), senior Grace Walsh (Marstons Mills, Mass.), and senior captain Thea Alberti (Wilmington, Mass.) all recorded a shot.
- LeBreton made three saves and allowed five goals after playing ninety minutes in net.
- The Chargers outshot the Pride 20-10, but Regis edged Colby-Sawyer 8-7 in shots on goal.
