Women’s Tennis Beats Division II Saint Mike’s, 5-2

COLCHESTER, VT. – The Colby-Sawyer College women's tennis team continued its dominate start by beating Division II Saint Michael's College on Monday night. Freshman Elise Hogan (Duxbury, Mass.) and freshman Amelia Campanella (Chepachet, R.I.) both won their two matches for the Chargers in the 5-2 victory.

Rapid Recap
  • In doubles play, sophomore Lindsay Macdonald (South Yarmouth, Mass.) and Hogan won their match 6-1 after only dropping one game. Senior Amira Eid (Pelham, N.H.) and Campanella also won their doubles match in a close match 6-3. The Chargers took a 2-1 lead into singles.
  • In singles, Macdonald went three sets with Saint Michael's Ava Albis. She battled tough, but ended up with her first loss of the season. Junior Emily Hill (Wilmington, Mass.) won her match (6-3, 6-1). Freshman Grace Carpenter (Milford, N.H.) and Hogan also took care of business, winning both of their matches (6-3, 6-1) and (6-1, 6-1). The two wins secured the victory for the Chargers. Campanella won her singles match (6-0, 6-1) to remain undefeated in the young season.

The Chargers return home this weekend to take on Emerson College and Lesley University on Sept 11.
