RESULTS
NEW LONDON, NH. – Colby-Sawyer Women's Cross Country hosted the third annual Charger Invitational on Saturday. The women competed on a very challenging and hilly course and found themselves coming out on top, finishing first out of six teams. Colby-Sawyer finished with 29 points, followed by Plymouth State University with 52 points. Saint Joseph's College of Maine finished in third with 62 points while the University of Maine-Farmington, Norwich University, and Lasell College finished fourth, fifth, and sixth.
First-year Samantha Carus (Brownfield, Maine) lead the Chargers to victory with a second-place finish in a time of 20:37.
She was quickly followed by junior Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) and first-year Tessa Millette (Barrington, N.H.) who finished third and fourth respectfully in 20:46 and 20:48. First year Quinn Aldrich (New Ipswich, N.H.) came in ninth overall in a time 22:40. First-year Heather Hanson (Marstons Mills, Mass.) also contributed to the scoring finishing in 11th overall and sealed the victory for the Chargers.
The Chargers will return to action on Saturday, September 18 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
