Chargers Are The GNAC Champions!

NEW LONDON, N.H. The Chargers were victorious on Kelsey Courts on Saturday defeating Regis College 5-0 to win the 2021 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship.

Rapid Recap:
  • The women began their triumph over the Pride sweeping in the opening doubles matches. #1 doubles pair, freshman Grace Carpenter (Milford, N.H.) and junior Emily Hill (Wilmington, Mass.) picked up a 8-6 victory. #2 doubles group, sophomore Lindsay Macdonald (South Yarmouth, Mass.) and freshman Elise Hogan (Duxbury, Mass.) picked up a dominant 8-1 win while #3 doubles pair, senior Amira Eid (Pelham, N.H.) and freshman Amelia Campanella (Chepachet, R.I.) delivered a 8-2 victory to propel the team to a 3-0 lead.  
  • During singles play, Carpenter competing in the #3 slot defeated Samantha Gevry by a 6-0, 6-3 final. Hogan competing in the #4 spot finished off her opponent by a 6-2, 6-0 final to clinch the GNAC trophy to Colby-Sawyer.
  • The Chargers were leading in all other singles at the time, however the matches were declared unfinished.
  • Colby-Sawyer ended the year not losing a single set in GNAC competition ending an impressive 64-0 in conference play.
