Women’s Cross Country Competes at Suffolk invitational

NEW LONDON, N.H.- The Colby-Sawyer women's cross-country team competed at the Suffolk University invitational hosted in Franklin Park on Saturday afternoon.

Rapid Recap: 
  • Besides being down one of the team's top runners, senior Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.), Colby-Sawyer showcased a solid performance against regionally ranked teams including Wellesley college, Colby College, Bowdoin College, and Wheaton College. 
  • The Chargers were led by first year Samantha Carus (Brownfield, ME). Carus placed 29th out of 174 runners, clocking in with a personal best in the 6k with a time of 24:56.0. 
  • Following Carus was first-year Tessa Millette (Barrington, NH). Millette finished 32nd with a time of 25:12.8. 
  • First year Quinn Aldrich (New Ipswich, NH) placed 97th with a PR of 27:54.4. 
  • The fourth Colby-Sawyer runner was first-year Heather Hanson (Marston Mills, MA). Hanson finished 104th with a personal best finish of 28:10.7 
Up Next: 
The Chargers will return to Franklin Park in two weeks for the GNAC Championship on October 30th.
