NEW LONDON, N.H. – A trio of goal scorers helped power the Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team to a 3-1 Homecoming win on Saturday afternoon against the Amcats of Anna Maria College at Kelsey Field.
Sophomore
Kara Keiper wasted no time giving the Chargers a lead, finding the back of the net just 36 seconds into the contest, her second tally of the season.
First year
Halle Pletzer joined the scoring party in the 35th minute, giving the Chargers a 2-0 advantage heading into the halftime break.
In the second half, first year
Bridget O'Connell finally broke through the Amcat defense to record her team-leading third goal of the year, giving Colby-Sawyer a 3-0 edge.
A late Amcat goal by Ashley Dickinson proved to be the lone tally of the afternoon for the visitors, as the Chargers secured the 3-1 win, their four overall and fourth Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory.
Alexis Lebreton recorded a pair of saves on the afternoon, as a stingy Chargers defense held Anna Maria to just six shots on the game, three on net.
Colby-Sawyer (4-7-0, 4-5-0 GNAC) sits tied for the eighth spot in the conference standings with Monday's opponent, Emmanuel College. The Chargers and Saints take to the pitch on Monday, Oct. 18 in a 3pm match-up at Kelsey Field.
