One of Tompkins' tallies was the game-winner. First-year Hannah Marquis (Weare, N.H.) notched a goal in her first collegiate appearance, while junior defender Jaime Wood (Waterford, Vt.) also tallied her first collegiate goal. Junior Allison Piracini (Tewksbury, Mass.) rounded out the Colby-Sawyer scoring with a goal of her own.

The teams traded the first eight goals of the game, but a tally by Tompkins with 2:14 on the clock gave Colby-Sawyer a 5-4 advantage after 30 minutes. Morin scored two goals and had an assist to lead the Chargers in the first half.

Colby-Sawyer started the second half with four consecutive goals, including two from Tattersall, to take a 9-4 lead less than six minutes into the frame. The Chargers carried the momentum for the rest of the game to cruise to the 13-6 win.
