NEW LONDON, N.H. – February 24, 2020 – The Colby-Sawyer College women's basketball team earned the sixth seed in this week's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament.

Colby-Sawyer finished the regular season on a five-game win streak to post an overall record of 18-7 and a 7-4 mark in the conference. Regis boasts a 14-11 overall record and an 8-3 conference record.

The teams last met on Feb. 4 in Weston. The Chargers trailed by as much as 16, but battled back to pull within one before falling by three, 54-51.

The senior duo of Tianna Sugars (Oxford, Maine) and Lexie Hamilton (Sunapee, N.H.) along with junior Joslin Wainwright (Plainfield, N.H.) account for 42 points and 24 rebounds per game for the Chargers. Sugars leads the way with 16.2 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. Hamilton averages 13.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and leads the nation with 7.4 assists per game. Wainwright is having a great season with 12 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.  

Regis will be paced by first-year Pam Gonzalez (Revere, Mass.). The seven-time GNAC Rookie of the Week, leads the Pride with 12.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game. Katryna Veasey (Quincy, Mass.) is averaging 10.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while Arie Searcy (Santa Rosa, Calif.) is contributing 10.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.

Tuesday's winner will take on the winner of second seed Saint Joseph's versus seventh seed Johnson & Wales on Thursday evening.
