STANDISH, Maine - January 21, 2020 - The Saint Joseph's men's basketball team avenged an earlier season loss to Colby-Sawyer by defeating the Chargers, 98-83, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action Tuesday evening.
The Monks improve to 7-9 overall and 1-1 in the GNAC. Colby-Sawyer falls to 6-9 overall and 0-2 in conference action. The Chargers will look to rebound at home on Saturday with a 3 p.m. tip against Johnson & Wales.
Saint Joseph's was led by Nicholas Curtis who poured in 36 points on 13-of-20 shooting (10-17 3pt). Jack Casale added 26 points, while Tatsuaki Sakai contributed 10 points and 11 assists.
Colby-Sawyer received 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting from senior
Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.). He now ranks ninth in career scoring with 1,436 points. Senior
Dana Bean (Franklin, N.H.) tallied 18 points, nine rebounds and a couple of blocks. He is now tied for third in career blocks with 109. First-year
Omar Boone (Colorado City, Texas) and sophomore
Terrence Harvey Jr. (Smyrna, Ga.) added 10 points apiece.
Saint Joseph's shot 45.9% (17-37) from three-point range.
