NEW LONDON, N.H. – January 15, 2020 – The Colby-Sawyer women's swim team swam to a 164-80 victory over Elms in an afternoon meet held at the Knight Natatorium.
RESULTS
The 200 medley relay team of sophomore
Kelsey Brown (Douglass, Mass.), first-year
Mary Steward (Saco, Maine), sophomore
Alyssa Brown (Douglas, Mass.) and first-year
Leilani Marlow (Kapolei, Hawaii) cruised to a victory to begin today's meet. The team combined for a time of 2:07.36.
First-year
Rebecca Lee (Redding, Conn.) then posted a victory in the 1650 freestyle by smashing her previous season best time of 20:24.08 to 19:41.96.
Junior
Zoe Daudier (Milford, N.H.) won the 200 freestyle and lowered her season best time by nearly two seconds at 2:14.31.
Marlow added victories in the 50 backstroke (31.31) and 200 backstroke (2:26.63).
In the 50 breaststroke, junior
Jinnae Jang (Fall River, Mass.) took the top spot in a season best time of 34.82 and was followed by Steward in second at 37.32. Jang then won the 50 freestyle (26.60) and the 500 freestyle with an impressive new season best time of 5:38.43, taking 10 seconds off her previous best.
First-year
Nina Boudreau (Hallowell, Maine) knocked off more than five seconds to win the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:28.92. Boudreau registered a victory in the 50 butterfly in 30.14.
Kelsey Brown posted the only sub-minute race in the 100 freestyle to take the top spot with a season best time of 57.94. She also won the 200 breaststroke (2:49.10) and 100 IM (1:06.20).
The Chargers hit the road this weekend to compete at the University of New England on Saturday at noon.
