SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team fell to a tough Springfield squad, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon.
The Chargers drop to 11-4, while Springfield improves to 9-2. Colby-Sawyer will begin a three-match homestand on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. contest against Merrimack.
Anna Kopituk and
Yashu Yang combined the the team's lone doubles point defeating Melissa Parrish and Juliette Piazza in convincing fashion, 8-3.
Yang continued her great play in singles as she cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the top flight over Parrish.
Hilary Boucher notched the other singles win for the Chargers. She defeated Piazza 6-4 and 7-5 at the No. 5 spot.
