SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team wrapped up a busy week with a trip to Springfield on Sunday. The Chargers were edged by the Pride, 5-4.
Colby-Sawyer drops to 6-8, while Springfield improves to 4-6. The Chargers will travel to Regis on Saturday for an important Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match against another team with the nickname Pride.
The Chargers were able to win two of three doubles matches both by an 8-6 score.
Erik Antonacci and
Matt Burke won at No. 2, while
Mike White and
Matt Williamson were victorious at No. 3.
Springfield came back in the match and eventually won by earning victories at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
Mike White cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over his opponent at the second flight.
Julius Lowman also recorded a point for the Chargers with a straight-sets triumph at the third flight. He won 7-6 (7-5) and 6-2.
