BEVERLY, Mass. - October 15, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team ended its fall portion of the 2019-2020 schedule with a 5-4 road win at Endicott.
The Chargers finish the fall at 2-3, but on a two-match win streak, sandwiched around a grass court doubles tournament victory hosted by Johnson & Wales.
Endicott jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles. Colby-Sawyer's point came at the No. 2 spot behind strong play from
Mike White (Woburn, Mass.) and
Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany). The tandem earned an 8-6 victory over Cooper Walters and Collin DiNardo.
Colby-Sawyer completed the comeback by winning four of the six singles matches.
Mike White took his top singles flight 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-3).
Matt Burke (Milford, Conn.) dropped the first set at the third flight, but rebounded to win the second and third sets 6-0 and 6-4.
Griffin Forberg (Fairfield, Conn.) at No. 4 and
Cam Lynch (Haverhill, Mass.) at No. 5 each won their singles matches in straight sets to help the Chargers secure the 5-4 victory.
