FITCHBURG, Mass. - October 10, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team hit .362 to breeze past Fitchburg State in non-conference action Thursday evening. The Chargers won by scores of 25-14, 25-13 and 25-14.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 11-12 and will travel to Lasell on Saturday for a tri-match against Manhattanville and a pivotal GNAC matchup against the Lasers. The Falcons drop to 3-10.
Sam Mohammed led all players with 11 kills on .450 hitting.
Naarah Cox was second on the team with eight kills. First-year
Ava LaValle converted six kills on eight attempts with no errors to hit .750.
Anna Allen tallied 27 assists and five digs.
The Chargers posted 12 kills in the first set to hit .292, nine kills on .300 hitting in the second and ended the match with 15 kills on .480 hitting.
Fitchburg State was led by Kathryn Newcomb's seven kills.
