BOSTON, Mass. - January 31, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer men's volleyball played its first road match and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest on Thursday evening. The Chargers fell to Wentworth, 3-0, by scores of 25-16, 25-11 and 25-9.
Wentworth improves to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the GNAC. Colby-Sawyer drops to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play. The Chargers will travel to NVU-Johnson on Wednesday.
First-year Ian Carlson (Parker, Colo.) hit .800% with a career-high eight kills to lead the Leopard attack. Junior Ryan Engel (Floral Park, N.Y.) booked six kills while hitting .385%, followed by five kills from sophomore Sean Spencer (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.). Junior Ryan Love (Gaithersburg, Md.) picked up six digs, while junior Augusto Rodriguez-Guerrios (San Juan, P.R.) posted 22 assists.
The Chargers were led by first-year
Eric Miller (La Grange, Ill.) who had three kills, three kills, and a solo block. First-year
AJ Gnieski (Needham, Mass.) contributed four digs and seven assists.
