Men's Soccer Earns 2-1 Road Win at Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. - September 29, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team earned a 2-1 road victory at Rivier in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match Saturday afternoon. 

The Chargers improve to 4-6 overall and 4-3 in the GNAC. The team will begin a three-match homestand next Saturday against Albertus Magnus. Rivier drops to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the conference. 

Jonathan Martinez earned his first collegiate start this afternoon and made it count. He put the Chargers on the board with his first collegiate tally in the 14th minute off a feed from Anthony Romeo

Colby-Sawyer benefited from an own goal three minutes later to take a 2-0 lead and never looked back. 

Rivier got one back in the 69th minute off the foot of Jason Adjei, but the Chargers held on for the 2-1 victory. 

Lucas Boetsch made a pair of saves in the win. Rivier keeper Collin Deyarmin had four saves for Rivier.
