BRISTOL, R.I. - September 2, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team was edged, 2-1, by Keene State on the final of the Roger Williams Invitational.
Colby-Sawyer (0-2) travels to Clark on Wednesday for its third-straight road match to begin the season. Keene evens its record to 1-1.
The Owls came out as the aggressors and outshot Colby-Sawyer 16-3 in the first 45 minutes. Nevertheless, Colby-Sawyer struck first after a failed clear attempt by the Keene defenders led to a chance for the Chargers. Freshman
Tim Driscoll (Framingham, Mass.) was credited with his first collegiate goal to give Colby-Sawyer a 1-0 advantage late in the first frame.
Keene kept up the pressure in the second and notched a pair of goals to pull off the 2-1 victory. Jonah Smith was responsible for both tallies for the Owls.
Dylan Berg played the first half for the Owls and surrendered one goal and made one stop. Chase Patterson earned the win with one save in a scoreless second half. Colby-Sawyer senior goalkeeper
Shane Sacks (Huntington Station, N.Y.) kept the Chargers in the contest and recorded double-digit saves for the second day in a row with 12 against the Owls.
