Women's Volleyball Drops Two Matches at Worcester State

WORCESTER, Mass. - September 15, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team drops a pair of matches at Worcester State on Saturday. The Chargers were edged by Western New England 3-2 before falling to the Lancers 3-0.

Colby-Sawyer drops to 5-6 on the season. The team will travel to Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. first serve. 

Western New England took the first match by scores of 25-21, 18-25, 26-24, 12-25 and 15-13. Anna Allen ran the offense with 32 assists. Morgan Flynn collected a team best 16 digs. Rebecca Straubel posted six aces, while Maddie Bromley added five aces. Bromley also tallied eight kills and three blocks. Courtney Murray led the team with 11 kills. Naarah Cox hit .429 with seven kills and three blocks. 

Worcester State then defeated Colby-Sawyer by scores of 25-11, 25-10 and 25-15. The Chargers were paced by Rebecca Straubel's six kills. Ellie Dupre had 13 assists, while Charlotte Frivoll collected a team best eight digs.
