CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - September 1, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team won both of its matches on the final day of the DeSales University Invitational. The Chargers came back to defeat Baruch 3-2 and followed with a 3-1 win over Rutgers-Camden.
The Chargers even their record to 2-2 and will head back to New Hampshire to play at New England College on Wednesday evening.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Baruch 2 - 19-25, 24-26, 25-15, 27-15, 15-10
After dropping the first two sets, the Chargers turned up the offensive to win the next three. Colby-Sawyer hit .345 in the third set, .243 in the fourth and .333 in the fifth. Freshman
Maddie Bromley led the Chargers with an impressive 16 kills on .317 hitting. She added 15 digs and a pair of blocks. Freshman
Sam Mohammed also reached double figures with 11 kills.
Morgan Flynn led the team with 22 digs, while freshman
Anna Allen posted 35 assists.
Colby-Sawyer 3, Rutgers-Camden 1 - 25-17, 25-23, 24-26, 25-21
Courtney Murray paced the Chargers in the final match of the afternoon with 14 kills on .382 hitting. Bromley had another great match with 13 kills, nine digs and three blocks. Allen posted a double-double of 31 assists, 17 digs and five aces. Mohammed added a match best six aces.
Bromley represented Colby-Sawyer on the All-Tournament Team.
