HENNIKER, N.H. - September 5, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team defeated intrastate rival New England College, 3-1, on Wednesday evening. The Chargers won by scores of 25-15, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-16.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 3-2 and will begin Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play at home on Saturday against #6 Johnson & Wales and Saint Joseph (CT). The Pilgrims fall to 2-3 on the season.
The Chargers were led by
Courtney Murray (Quincy, Mass.) and
Maddie Bromley (Truckee, Calif.) who finished with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Anna Allen (Los Angeles, Calif.) tallied 33 assists and 11 digs, while
Morgan Flynn (Reading, Mass.) chipped in with 17 digs.
The Pilgrims received a team-best double-double of 11 kills and 19 digs from freshman Tihani Ehia (Kaneohe, Hawaii). Freshman Maggie Dadmun (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) dished out a team-best 14 assists and also served a team-high four aces.
The Chargers used efficient attacking to easily take the first and fourth sets. The second and third sets were evenly played with each team winning one.
