NEW LONDON, N.H. – March 29, 2018 – The Colby-Sawyer women's lacrosse team defeated Nichols, 17-6, in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon at the Sally Shaw Veitch Turf Field
Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-3 and will resume North Atlantic Conference action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. home contest against Thomas. Nichols drops to 1-4 and will travel to Curry on Tuesday for a Commonwealth Coast Conference meeting.
The Chargers were led by senior
Nicole Lavigne (Berlin, Vt.) and freshman
Briana Couture (South Hadley, Mass.). Lavigne scored five goals and added two assists, while Couture tallied four goals. Lavigne moved into third place in career points with 222. Senior
Bailey Starr (Barre, Vt.) scored twice anc collected nine draw controls. Junior
Sierra Schuster (Hopkinton, N.H.) recorded two goals and two assists. Freshman
Jess Tattersall (Keene, N.H.) notched her first collegiate goal in the win.
Nichols received two goals from senior Lindsay O'Connell (Danvers, Mass.). Sophomore Danielle Kozloski (Pepperell, Mass.), freshman Lizz McKinnon (Quincy, Mass.), senior Allison Bench (Windham, N.H.) and sophomore Miranda Smith (Methuen, Mass.) added a goal apiece.
Sophomore
Kailyn Lapham (Medway, Mass.) earned the win in goal for Colby-Sawyer with eight saves. Sophomore Emily Eagan (Hingham, Mass.) made 22 stops in the loss for the Bison.
Colby-Sawyer outshot Nichols 46-21.
