SALEM, Mass. – October 11, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team outlasted the Salem State Vikings, 3-2, on Thursday evening. The Chargers won by scores of 22-25, 25-15, 25-11, 21-25 and 15-12.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 15-8 and the Vikings slip to 11-8 on the season. The Chargers will host Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Saturday at noon.
First-year
Anna Allen (Los Angeles, Calif.) contributed a season best 42 assists, 12 digs, and four kills to lead the Chargers. First-year
Sam Mohammed (Killingworth, Conn.) posted a match and season best 15 kills. First-year
Maddie Bromley (Truckee, Calif.) added nine kills, 10 digs and five aces. Junior
Morgan Flynn (Reading, Mass.) tallied a match best 25 digs.
Naarah Cox (Boston, Mass.) and
Maddie Conroy (Middlebury, Conn.) chipped in with eight kills apiece.
For Salem State, Brynn O'Neill (Danvers, Mass.) totaled nine kills and 14 digs. Morgan Adams had 26 assists and 11 digs, while Jasmine Severino hit .412 to finish with eight kills. Samantha Chaisson collected a team best 21 digs.
