DUDLEY, Mass. - The Colby-Sawyer College men's tennis team competed at the 2017 Nichols College Invitational on Sunday. In addition to Colby-Sawyer and Nichols, Clark and Springfield also competed. 

Junior Alex Wright came away with a pair of victories to take the Singles B Flight championship. He defeated Lenny Siegel of Clark 6-0, 6-4 in the semifinals before a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Springfield's Court Honda in the finals. 

Senior Ross Kenney advanced to the Singles C Flight. He began the day with a 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Nicolas Lee from Clark, but then was defeated by August Moeller in the finals by scores of 7-5 and 6-2. 

Freshman Nick Mathieu saw his first action in a Colby-Sawyer uniform as he played a pair of close matches at the Singles A Flight. Mathieu dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Nichols' top player Blake Norton. He then battled to three sets against Clark's Barun Gill but fell 3-6, 6-4 and 10-4.
