Men's Soccer Drops 2-1 Double OT Decision at Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - September 10, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team fell to Middlebury, 2-1, in double overtime on Sunday afternoon.

After a four-game road trip to begin the season, the Chargers will return home to host Clark on Wednesday afternoon. Middlebury improves to 2-1.

The Colby-Sawyer defense was holding steady in the first half and turned the momentum when Denali Sexton (Barrington, R.I.) broke through at 25:00 to convert on the Chargers' lone shot of the frame.

The Chargers held to 1-0 advantage for much of the second half behind strong play from the backline and goalkeeper Sean Babinski (Concord, Calif.).

Middlebury found an equalizer in the 83rd minute when Peter Davis put home a header in traffic in front of the net.

Each team recorded a pair of shots in the first overtime but neither could end the match.

With less than two minutes to play in the second overtime, the Panthers received the game-winner from Daniel O'Grady off a feed from Henry Wilheim.

Babinski finished with 11 saves for Colby-Sawyer.
