BRUNSWICK, Maine - May 13, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team fell to Bowdoin, 5-0, in Saturday's NCAA Tournament Second Round held at Pickard Courts. 

Colby-Sawyer ends its season at 17-6 and will return all six starters next season. Bowdoin, which is ranked eighth in the nation, advances to the regional final against the winner of MIT/Wesleyan. 

Bowdoin was able to win all three doubles matches to make the score 3-0. Lauren Blanchard and Christine Hill fell to Pilar Giffenig and Sasa Jovanovic, 8-1 at No. 3, while Evelyn Miller and Aislinn O'Connor dropped their No. 2 match to Tess Trinka and Tasha Christ by an 8-2 score. At the top doubles spot, Ashley Woodside and Maddy Gemerek took three games from Bowdoin duo Joulia Likhanskaia and Sam Stalder, who are ranked third in the region, before falling 8-3.  

The Polar Bears clinched the match with wins at No. 3 and No. 6 singles. 

After dropping the first set 6-0, Ashley Woodside was leading Joulia Likhanskaia, who is ranked fifth in the region, 3-1 in the second set when the match was decided.
