Biography

As a senior: Miller completed one of the most impressive 3-year careers on the tennis court. Miller was named a NAC Woman of the Year, honored as the NAC Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year, named to the All-NAC Sportsmanship Team, All-NAC Singles First Team and All-NAC Doubles Second Team. In addition, Miller was named a 2017-18 Google Cloud First Team Academic All-District Division III Women's At-Large selection. She earned the Wynne Jesser McGrew Senior Scholar-Athlete Award and the Biology Capstone Award. Miller also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete and NAC All-Academic for the second year in a row. She went 15-4 in overall singles matches and 4-0 in the NAC. She added a 17-9 overall doubles record and was 5-0 in conference matches. One of her doubles wins came in the NCAA Tournament, which helped the Chargers win a third-straight NCAA First Round matchup. Earlier in the postseason, Miller was named NAC Tournament MVP. She finished conference singles play with a perfect 14-0 record and an unblemished doubles mark of 16-0. Miller finished her 3-year career ranked eighth in total wins (101), seventh in singles wins (46) and tied for sixth in doubles wins (55). 

As a junior: Miller earned All-NEAC First Team honors in singles (14-6) and doubles (18-6), as well as the NEAC All-Tournament honors after leading the Chargers to their fifth straight conference crown. Miller earned the Jill Craybas Award for Rhode Island's top female college player of the year. She teamed with Aislinn O'Connor to win their NCAA No. 2 doubles match and help the team advance to the second round. Miller finished the fall with an impressive 11-1 record, which included wins over Division II opponents from Saint Michael's and Southern New Hampshire. She went 5-0 in conference play for the second straight season and earned one Player of the Week award. She added another win over a DII opponent from Saint Anselm in the spring. Miller earned ITA Scholar-Athlete and NAC All-Academic accolades for her work in the classroom.

As a sophomore: Miller had a record breaking first season with the Chargers. She went 17-3 (5-0 in NEAC) to set a new single season singles record and also set a program record with 37 total wins. Miller earned three NEAC East Rookie of the Week awards during the season and was named to the NEAC East Division All-Tournament team. Highlighting Miller’s season was her 6-0, 6-0 No. 4 singles win that secured the Chargers’ first NCAA victory. She also was named Second Team Doubles All-Conference. Miller combined with Aislinn O'Connor to compile an overall record of 20-6. They went 7-0 in conference play and reached the finals of the Flight B championships at the Salve Regina Grass Court Doubles tournament. Miller and O'Connor combined for the program’s first point in an NCAA Tournament with an 8-1 win over UMass Dartmouth’s No. 2 doubles team.

As a freshman: Attended CCRI.

Personal: Evelyn was a member of two Division II state championship teams. She also was named All-State First Team as a junior and senior. Evelyn is a Biology major.
