Women's Lacrosse Drops Regular Season Finale at NEC, 14-8

HENNIKER, N.H. - April 24, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's lacrosse team fell at New England College, 14-8, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) regular season finale. 

The Chargers fall to 9-6 and finish the conference season at 6-3. Colby-Sawyer has secured a spot in this weekend's NAC Tournament and the seedings and pairings will be released soon. New England College improves to 10-6 overall and locked up the second seed with an 8-1 record. 

Nicole Lavigne led Colby-Sawyer with five goals and five ground balls. Seeing her first action in several weeks, Bailey Starr recorded a goal and a team best five draw controls. Grace Vosburgh and Sierra Schuster each tallied a goal. 

Alana Scott led NEC with six goals and an assist. Senior Allison Granata scored four goals in the win, while Tara Bainbridge finished with two goals and two assists. Granata also had a team-best four draw controls and caused five turnovers. 

Meghan Castellano made eight saves for Colby-Sawyer. NEC goalie had Mackenzie Meegan finished with seven stops.
