WESTFORD, Mass. - April 22, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team fell at Wheaton, 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Chargers drop to 14-5 and will host Saint Anselm on Sunday at 3 p.m. for their final match before heading to Latham, N.Y. on May 7 for the NAC/NEAC Crossover Championship.
Wheaton swept doubles action to take a 3-0 lead. The No. 2 duo of
Aislinn O'Connor and
Evelyn Miller played the closest match giving Connor O'Keefe and Harley Swainston all they could handle. The team from Wheaton was able to secure the point by an 8-5 score.
O'Connor recorded the Chargers' lone point of the match by winning her No. 4 singles match over Swainston 6-1, 6-4. Miller also battled at the second spot and forced a third set against Isabelle Garvanne, but fell 6-1, 4-6, 10-3.
