ORLANDO, Florida - March 17, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team wrapped up a four match trip to Orlando with a pair of matches on Thursday and Friday. 

The Chargers were edged by Ithaca, 6-3, in a rematch of the 2013 NCAA First Round on Thursday. Colby-Sawyer rebounded with a 7-2 win over Edgewood College on Friday. Colby-Sawyer (13-4) will play three more matches this spring before competing in the NAC/NEAC Crossover Championship in Latham, N.Y. with a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line. 

In the match against Ithaca, the Chargers began by winning two of three doubles. Evelyn Miller and Aislinn O'Connor earned an 8-5 victory at No. 2, while Lauren Blanchard and Christine Hill combined for an impressive 8-3 win at No. 3. 

Blanchard then recorded the lone singles win for the Chargers. After dropping a tightly contested first set 7-6, Blanchard rebounded by winning the second set 6-3 and closed the match with a 10-5 win in the third. 

Miller and O'Connor and Blanchard and Hill gave the Chargers another two wins in doubles action in Friday's match against Edgewood. Colby-Sawyer would then win five of the six singles matches led by Ashley Woodside's 6-1, 6-0 win at the top flight.
