BANGOR, Maine - January 21, 2017 - The Colby-Sawyer women's swimming and diving team turned in several impressive performances en route to a 156-99 victory at Husson University on Saturday afternoon.
RESULTS
The afternoon began with a great team effort in the 200 medley relay.
Makenzie Welch,
Anna Zdziarski,
Meagan Thomsen and
Meghan Mamlock combined to win the race by more than nine seconds in 2:02.44. The day ended as it began with another Colby-Sawyer relay victory. Zdziarski, Mamlock, Thomsen and
Grace Herde took top honors in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:52.66.
Mamlock turned in a season best time of 11:54.54 to win the 1000 freestyle. Later in the meet, Mamlock won the 500 freestyle by 36 seconds over a swimmer from Husson with a time of 5:41.61.
Anna Gaskill earned multiple individual victories at the meet. She won the 200 freestyle by more than 11 seconds in a time of 2:14.83. She also took the top spot in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:01.87.
Welch and Thomsen placed first and second, respectively, in the 50 backstroke with times of 31.02 and 31.55. Welch also came away with a victory in the 100 backstroke (1:06.38).
Zdziarski edged teammate Welch in the 100 IM for first place in 1:08.36 and also won the 50 butterfly over teammate Kathleen Tremblay. Zdziarski clocked in at 29.83, while Tremblay earned second place points with a time of 32.10.
Thomsen picked up a win in the 50 freestyle. She touched the wall in 28.37.
The Chargers will travel to Gordon next Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
