HOLDERNESS, N.H. - September 7, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer College women's tennis team swept Plymouth State, 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 3-1 and will begin North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division action on Tuesday at home against Johnson State. Plymouth evens its record to 1-1.
Colby-Sawyer won each match in convincing fashion to come away with the road victoy.
Ashley Woodside and
Maddy Gemerek won at the top doubles spot by an 8-2 score. The No. 2 team of
Aislinn O'Connor and
Evelyn Miller and the No. 3 team of
Lauren Blanchard and
Christine Hill made it a doubles sweep with 8-0 victories.
Woodside, Miller, Gemerek and Blanchard each won singles matches without dropping a game. O'Connor won at No. 4 6-1, 6-1, while Hill cruised to a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6.
