NASHUA, N.H. - September 28, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team completed a record breaking first month of the season after Wednesday's 6-0 triumph at Rivier.Â
The Chargers have won four in a row for the second time this season and tied a program record for wins in a season with last year's team after improving to 8-2. Colby-Sawyer will travel to UMaine-Farmington on Saturday for a pivotal North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest. Rivier drops to 3-7 and will return to Great Northeast Athletic Conference play on Saturday night with a 6 p.m. home game against Johnson & Wales.
The team recorded 15 points on six goals and three assists tonight, which set single season records for points (107) and goals (44) with a month of action still remaining.Â

Colby-Sawyer's
Rachel Fisher scored the eventual game-winner at 27:11 in the first half when she knocked home an
Alie Jones pass for the 1-0 lead.

The Chargers offense erupted over the final 35 minutes as they scored five times in a nine minute span.
Ashley Mikkila netted an unassisted tally at 48:00 followed by a pair of
Paige Viens goals (52:42 & 57:42) and
Sierra Schuster's lone goal of the game. The flurry came to an end at 57:57 when Jones scored an unassisted goal of her own to account for all the scoring. Jones now has a single season record 23 points and 10 goals.
Jordan Teixeira assisted on the second goal by Viens. The assist improved Teixeira's career record to 11.Â

Colby-Sawyer's
Xena Ras earned the team's third shutout of the season with six saves on six chances.
Rivier sophomore goalkeeper Emily Foster was busy in net this evening as she made 14 saves on 18 shots. Freshman Katherine Papele finished the final 12 minutes of action with two stops.
