CASTLETON, Vt. - September 14, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team earned a 9-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) East Division win for the second time in as many days by defeating Castleton on Wednesday afternoon. 
The Chargers improve to 5-1 and have won three straight matches by a 9-0 score. Colby-Sawyer will return to the court next Wednesday with a conference match at Green Mountain. Castleton drops to 3-2 and 1-1 in the NEAC.
Colby-Sawyer got out to an early lead in doubles sweeping the board for a 3-0 advantage. The No.1 duo of 
Ashley Woodside and 
Maddy Gemerek and No. 2 duo of 
Evelyn Miller and 
Aislinn O'Connor did not drop a game en route to 8-0 wins. 
Lauren Blanchard and 
Christine Hill made it a sweep with an 8-1 win at No. 3.
All six doubles players went on to win their singles matches in straight sets to clinch the 9-0 win.
