NASHUA, N.H. April 23, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer baseball team split a pair of non-conference games at Daniel Webster on Saturday. The Chargers took game one 4-2, but fell 4-3 in game two. The teams will play a single game in New London on Sunday at noon.
In the nightcap, DWC's Mike Pelletier finished 2 for 4 while Wilson Pena (Nashua) was 2 for 3 including a two-run single in the fourth as part of a three-run inning that put DWC ahead 3-1 at the time.
The Chargers had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth on a
Brady Dion (Sabattus, Maine) RBI single that scored
Brendan Thurber (Ashland, Mass.), who doubled to lead off, one of his two hits to lead Colby-Sawyer.
DWC was aided by an error in the bottom of the inning to take the two-run lead which remained until the top of the sixth when the Chargers tied it aided by two Eagle miscues and a RBI sac fly from
Joey Fenuccio (Keene, N.H.).
Costa Tingas (Lowell, Mass.) got the win on the mound (1-4) scattering five hits and allowing two earned runs for DWC, striking out five and walking one.
Andrew Clay (Hopkinton, N.H.) took the tough-luck loss (0-1).
In the day's opener,
Brendan Thurber had the biggest hit of the game, stoking a three-run shot to left field punctuating a four-run fourth, which was all the Chargers would need after falling behind 2-0.
Jackson Musco (Litchfield, N.H.) led off with a three-base error and scored on a
Jeff Dunn (Bellingham, Mass.) single. Henry (two hits) then walked setting up Thurber's first round-tripper of the season.

Andrew Carbone (Lynnfield, Mass.) earned the complete game win (4-2), striking out two and walking two and allowed five hits.
