LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - April 13, 2016 - After more than two weeks removed from their last North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division match, the Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team blanked Lyndon, 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The Chargers will host MCLA on Thursday with first serve set for 3:30 p.m. Lyndon drops to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in the NAC.
The three doubles teams cruised to victories over the Hornets to take a 3-0 lead into singles.
Dean Boodakian and
Ryan Sawyer took No. 1 doubles 8-2, while
Gustav Jigrup and
Shawn Bissonette won at No. 2 8-1. The No. 3 duo of
Ross Kenney and
Alex Townsend did not drop a game and won 8-0.
All six doubles players also won their singles matches in straight sets. After taking the first set 6-3, Jigrup closed his No. 1 match with a 6-0 win in the second.
Sawyer dropped just one game in each set to take the second flight 6-1, 6-1.
Boodakian, Kenney, Bissonette and Townsend did not drop a game en route to 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
