HANOVER, N.H. - March 16, 2016 - Trailing 2-1 after doubles play, the Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team won all six singles matches to earn a 7-2 victory over Saint Michael's College of Division II at the Boss Tennis Center on the campus of Dartmouth College on Wednesday evening.
With the win, Colby-Sawyer improves to 4-3 which includes wins over Division I and Division II programs. The team will host another Division II foe next Wednesday in Bentley University.
Dean Boodakian and
Ryan Sawyer secured the lone doubles point of the evening by edging Ben Lambert and Hayden Steward 9-8 (7-2) at the top flight.
Sawyer and Boodakian then took their singles matches at the third and fourth flights in straight sets.
Alex Wright (No. 1),
Andrew Peloquin (No. 5) and
Ryan Broderick (No. 6) also won singles matches in straight sets.
Ross Kenney dropped the first set at the second flight 7-5, but rebounded to take the second 6-4 and the third 10-5 to help secure the Chargers victory.
