CASTINE, Maine - November 4, 2016 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team swept Husson University, 3-0, in Friday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) semifinal match.

Colby-Sawyer and Maine Maritime have met in the finals the past five seasons with all matches being played in New London. Colby-Sawyer won each of the championship matches by a 3-0 score. The Mariners served the Chargers their first conference loss since joining the NAC earlier this season in Castine by a 3-0 score. Maine Maritime earned a 3-0 win over Lyndon in Friday's other semifinal match.
The Chargers fell behind early in each set, but found the rhythm and finished strong to earn the 3-0 sweep by scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-19. The team hit .225 for the match, which included an impressive .370 percentage in the first set.

Gabrielle Rodriguez led all players with 12 kills. She added nine digs. Freshman
Jaia Woodland hit an impressive .667 to finish with nine kills in 12 attempts. Freshman
Ashley Kinley collected a match best 14 digs, while freshman
Monika Scheindel also reached double digit digs with 11 and freshman
Morgan Flynn finished with 10.

Olivia Goodrich registered 34 assists, while freshman
Caroline McCoy had a match-high four aces. All-NAC First Team honoree freshman
Naarah Cox added five kills on .833 hitting.
Husson received three kills from Bailey Cote and Mary Grace Power. Delaney Chisholm recorded a team best 10 digs.
